Explore abstraction with Natalie at
The Weir

These classes offer a gentle and supported pathway into abstract art and are designed to encourage a reflective and personal approach to abstraction based on traditional observation and creative play exercises. Located at The Weir near Marhamchurch, we will be based in the main cafe area with access to the beautiful outside garden and lake areas for observational drawing and creative play exercises when the weather allows!
Whether you're experienced or beginner, the mix of tutored time with space to explore and play will help you learn, experiment and develop your confidence in art.
We start Wednesday 2nd September and will run in short terms, with breaks during the school holidays. Class will start at 9.30am until 11.30am, all materials provided.

Where: The Weir Farmhouse Restaurant, Helebridge, Marhamchurch, Bude EX23 OJD
When: Wednesdays (term time) 9.30am to 11.30am
Cost: £25 per session (includes all materials) or buy a bundle of 6 for £135
Additional: Food and drink can be purchased from the cafe during the class
Joining Information
Please arrive at the venue in good time for a 9.30am start - I recommend around 9.20am. We will finish at 11.30am.
We will be in the main cafe area, towards the far left as you walk in. We will go outside when possible using the indoor space as a base.
I’ll provide paper and canvas boards to work on and a selection of art materials, brushes and paints, but if you have materials you would particularly like to use then please feel free to bring them along.
I would recommend wearing old clothes or bring an apron to protect your clothes.
A few points to note:
Parking is free at The Weir, please park in the top or bottom car park.
Refreshments are available to purchase in the cafe - please DO NOT bring your own food and drinks to consume on the premises.
Prepaid sessions are not refundable on cancellations with less than 24 hours notice. Please give as much notice as possible if you can no longer make your booked session.

Meet Natalie, Your Guide
I spent a long time trying to understand what I wanted my art practice to be and how I wanted to make that happen.
After many dead ends and frustrations I brought all my successes together to create a framework that worked for me.
Experimentation
Everything I teach has an element of experimentation and I strongly encourage this mindset in all the classes.
I teach you the basics, then support you to continue asking 'what if'....' as you explore and apply what you have learned into your own practice.
Experience
Join me as I share this with artists just like you, whatever your experience.
Whether you are just beginning your artist journey or seeking a different approach, these classes will inspire you.
