Welcome! I’m Natalie Day, a full-time Cornwall artist and tutor. I offer self-paced online courses specialising in abstract landscape painting and experimental cyanotype art that guide artists at every level through a proven creative process - helping you uncover your unique artistic voice, develop your own style, and build a joyful, sustainable studio practice. With over 1,000 students taught to date and courses rooted in the Cornish natural landscape, my approach combines mindful observation, fearless experimentation, and the creative freedom to make art that is authentically yours.
Whether you're learning abstract art for the first time or seeking to push your experimental art techniques further, join me in exploring abstraction, cyanotype innovation, and mindful art-making in these masterclasses that will transform your creative practice!
• Abstract Landscape Painting - learn to observe, filter and apply the landscape through my signature 'Gather, Reconnect, Apply' framework
• Experimental Cyanotypes - go beyond traditional blueprints to create colour-expanded, texture-rich cyanotype art
• 10 Day Creativity Challenge - daily prompts to rebuild creative momentum and break habitual patterns

The complete collection of everything I teach, designed to help you uncover your authentic voice, experiment fearlessly, and build an exciting and sustaining creative practice that lasts.
In this free guide, I share my 3 foundational concepts from my own abstracting process: Pause (mindful observation), Notice (sensory connection), and Filter (creating your visual record). These simple but powerful techniques help you move from confusion to clarity when approaching abstract landscape art. Perfect for beginners wondering how to start abstracting what they see.

"A fantastic resource, thank you for sharing!"

In this mini class I guide you through my key concepts in more detail with a lesson and workbook. These concepts form the foundation of my abstraction process and offer an easy and meaningful way in to start creating deeply authentic and unique artwork.
"Insightful questions and begins a curiosity about connecting to art, absolutely awesome!"

Have you tried different ways to abstract your subject, but not yet found one that resonates with you? I found it surprisingly hard to know where to even begin! In this online class I'll be sharing my entire process of abstraction, from gathering the data to completing the work.
"An inspirational tutor, helped me think of landscape painting in a whole new way - has given me the freedom to experiment."

Discover the world of cyanotype - but not as you know it! If you're ready to break the rules and create unique cyanotype art with stunning colour expansion effects, this course is for you. I'll show you how to adjust solution ratios, mix wet and dry materials, and achieve colours beyond traditional blue - all through experimental cyanotype techniques that give you a creative edge.
“It was so exciting to see the results appear and change before our eyes – a fabulous mix of art, chemistry and… magic! I would totally recommend booking an art class with Natalie – you’ll love it!”

The best results come when we make a commitment to doing the work and in this 10 day challenge I'll share a daily creative exercise with you to help get you into a rhythm and trigger creative flow.

A brand new tutored class introducing a range of abstract art methods, allowing you to explore and develop your own style. An in-person class in Bude, Cornwall.
“Natalie’s session was wonderful! Fascinating to learn about cyanotype and be guided with her clear advice. I spent a long time trying to understand what I wanted my art practice to be and how I wanted to make that happen.
After many dead ends and frustrations I brought all my successes together to create a framework that worked for me.
Everything I teach has an element of experimentation and I strongly encourage this mindset in all the classes.
I teach you the basics, then support you to continue asking 'what if'....' as you explore and apply what you have learned into your own practice.

Join me as I share this with artists just like you, whatever your experience.
Whether you are just beginning your artist journey or seeking a different approach, these classes will inspire you.
